Mr. Michael Dwight Brown

It is with profound sadness and broken hearts that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved Mr. Michael Dwight Brown, age 61, of Shallotte, North Carolina. Michael passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, August 18, 2026, at Novant Health Brunswick Medical Center in Bolivia, North Carolina.

Michael was a loving husband, devoted father, proud grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin, and cherished friend. His passing came far too soon and has left a deep void in the hearts of everyone who knew and loved him. Although we were not prepared to say goodbye, we are grateful for every moment, every memory, every laugh, and every expression of love he shared with us.

He leaves to cherish his beautiful memory his loving wife, Melissa S. Brown; six children, Le’Andra Johnson, Kira Davis, Marquis Brown, Myyah Brown, Molysha Brown, and Meldrina Brown; and three grandchildren, Kyla, My’Aire, and Mika. He also leaves behind a host of sisters, brothers, nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, and dear friends who will forever carry his memory in their hearts.

Michael’s life may have been suddenly taken from us, but the love he gave and the memories he created will never be taken away. His family will continue to honor his life by carrying his love, his spirit, and his memory forward.

Celebration of Life

A Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, August 29, 2026, at 11:00 AM in the Chapel of Peoples Funeral Home-Shallotte, located at 5190 Ocean Highway West, Shallotte, NC 28470.

A viewing will be held one hour prior to the service, from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM, in the chapel.

Cremation will follow the service.

May Michael rest peacefully, knowing he was deeply loved and will never be forgotten.
